Text Box: PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY AT FIRST LUTHERAN
There is a group of about 12 ladies in the congregation of First Lutheran, who love to knit and crochet, and enjoy making Prayer Shawls as their service to others. This parish ministry is part of the “Health and Wellness”, Care Like Christ Grace Group of the church. Homemade shawls are given to members of any age who are or have been hospitalized, adults who have lost spouses, or to babies (or children of any age) at the time of their baptism. Baptismal mementos for framing are designed from special paper designated the date of baptism and given at the time of baptism. Fleece shawls are also made to use appropriately. The shawls are meant to bring caring greetings from First Lutheran Church to a member at a time when comfort and peace is needed.

The Prayer Shawl Group meets together once a month in member’s home to share ideas and knit or crochet for a social time. Anyone interested in more information, please contact the church office. If you would care to join this group, you are very welcome.
